Wild Wicklow Tour: Wicklow Mountains, Glendalough & Guinness Lake
About This Tour
Smaller Coach. Wilder Roads. The Best of Wicklow.
Unlike many larger coach tours, our smaller coach takes you beyond the main roads and deeper into the Wicklow Mountains, with access to spectacular mountain roads, valleys and viewpoints that larger vehicles often cannot reach.
Travel with one of our expert local guides for a fun, relaxed day filled with scenery, history, stories and plenty of time to experience Wicklow.
Highlights: scenic drive along Dublin’s southern coast, Killiney Hill, Avoca Handweavers (Kilmacanoge), Sally Gap, Lough Tay (Guinness Lake), Glendalough’s ancient monastic site and free time to explore the Valley of the Two Lakes. Finish with a complimentary taste of Glendalough Whiskey.
Winter itinerary – 1 November to 4 April: Killiney Hill and Avoca are normally excluded, allowing more time for the Wicklow Mountains, Lough Tay and Glendalough. Winter tours usually return to Dublin by 4:00–4:30pm.

Afterward, your group will visit a traditional Irish pub for lunch (own expense). Relax, savour Irish home-cooking and sip on a creamy Guinness before heading to the glacial valley of Glendalough. Alternative options available if a pub lunch is not your thing. Ask you guide for info.

Glendalough, the “Valley of the Two Lakes”, has drawn visitors for centuries with its dramatic scenery, ancient history and peaceful setting. Founded by St Kevin in the 6th century, its monastic settlement once included churches, guest houses, an infirmary and centres for manuscript writing. Join your guide to explore highlights including the famous Round Tower, then enjoy free time to discover the valley at your own pace. You can also walk through ancient woodland to the Upper Lake.
